New Beginnings

Hey friends and welcome to 2019. As you and I reflect on 2018 I am sure we feel a lot of emotion. From happiness to sad, to regaining strength and feeling hopeless, we all felt it in some way. What is amazing about our Creator is that he was with us every single step we took. I love the way our Father is with us even when we can’t feel him. When we can’t see what he is doing, he is saying to us, “wait, trust, believe”. In 2019, I hope we can practice these steps together of waiting, trusting, and believing.

Waiting is hard. If the Starbucks line is more than five people I regret not doing the mobile order pick-up. I read the menu eight times even though I already made up my mind before I stepped out of the car. However, I have that time to practice patience. I have the time to be present. I think we take the present time for granted because often times we are waiting for the future to come. However, the days are going to pass to get to the days we want, so enjoy the days we have.

“Dear friends, don’t overlook this one fact: With the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like one day. The Lord does not delay his promise, as some understand delay, but is patience with you, no wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance.”

2 Peter 3: 8-9

What a beautiful reminder from our Lord about patience.

The practice of patience doesn’t come overnight, even though we all wish it did. It is something we have to work on everyday. Maybe you are in need of patience of waiting for a job opening, talking with your kids, seeing results on working out, or finding the one that you might spend the rest of your life with. God knows this. He can see you struggling, but you have to trust the Lord, with all your heart. Please believe me when I say that God loves you too much to leave you where you are. He loves you and soon he whispers to us, “Wait, my child. Please be in the season of ripe so you can see the beautiful harvest I have awaiting for you.” You are in a season of growth all the time, ordained by our Maker. Be present in the growth. Know that it will take time.
