Five Tips to Boost Your Morning

Mornings can either make you or break you. It’s just the facts. If you miss your alarm or hit snooze five times, you might be on the breaking end. If you take charge and make your feet hit the floor, you will come out a winner.

I know not everyone is a morning person. I get that entirely! I will be honest, there are some days where mornings get the best of me and all I want to do is lay in bed for the next seven hours. However, my best mornings are when I help myself out the night before and stick to my routine. I can tell you I walk out of my door ready to take on whatever God has planned for me that day.

Here are five tips that I find so helpful to kick-start my mornings.

  1. If you have a coffee maker/keurig, get your coffee ready the night before.

What I mean by this is pour your water in and put the cup or grounds in place. Have your coffee cup ready underneath or by hand. Now all you have to do in the morning is press start! This can save time by getting everything around but if you have the energy to do it the night before, what’s stopping you? I would much rather push a button instead of going through the process in the morning when all I want is my coffee!

  1. Pick out your outfit the night before.

Check the weather, check your clean clothes, check Pinterest, and get to it! You will feel more creative the night before and with the help of Pinterest you can own the next day. I love checking out Pinterest for fall ideas with sweaters or Hunter boots. My go-to search lately has been Adidas sneakers and how to wear them. Trust me, Pinterest can be your bff.

  1. Make your bed.

My coach always tell us this tip. If you don’t accomplish anything that day, at least you accomplished making your bed. Also, your room will look at least 10% cleaner when your bed is made. It takes all of two minutes and can turn your morning into magic. Add in your favorite pillows, fold your blankets, and look at your accomplishment.

  1. Podcast, podcast, podcasts!

I am a fan of podcasts. They can turn my mood around and help me set my intentions for the day or week. I love the ones that inspire me to be a better Godly woman. Here are my absolute favorites:

  1. Have a make-up routine.

My make-up routine is basically the same everyday. I found something that works for my face and I am happy with it. I watched a few YouTube tutorials and follow my favorite beauty blogger Courtney Shields for tips along the way. It helps me save so much time because I know my next steps for the routine.

I try to accomplish these tips every weekday morning, but I am human and it doesn’t always happen and that’s okay. Everyday we can wake up and try to do our best to glorify God. Everything that we strive for should be with good and Holy intentions. If you can start your morning off with the right heart, you can do anything you set your mind to for the rest of the day.
